Payment Options
Acupuncture
We currently accept two forms of payment.
Method 1
We accept personal check and cash (via Venmo or Zelle) as payment if your health insurance plan doesn't cover acupuncture. We will prepare the forms for you to submit for reimbursement or for your flexible spending plan at your request. To minimize the paper contacts for Covid-19, please refer to our Covid-19 Policy page for payment handling.
Method 2
We are currently an in-network provider for the following insurance
Aetna (Meritain)
Blue Cross Blue Shield (nationwide)
United Healthcare
Cigna
For insurance patients:
Acupuncture is not an essential benefit therefore even our clinic listed as an in-network provider, your specific insurance policy will determine if you have the coverage or not. If your plan covers acupuncture, you only need to provide the co-payment or co-insurance specified by your plan for acupuncture.
Some insurance plans not listed will cover acupuncture. If your health insurance plan covers acupuncture treatments and we are an out-of-network provider, you will need to pay our clinic first then be reimbursed after we receive the payment from your insurance company.
Many health insurance plans cover the needling part as an acupuncture treatment. However, the insurance coverage varies from one plan to another. We will give you complete knowledge of your coverage chosen us as either an in-network or an out-of-network provider before you start treatments.
Please call our office to provide insurance information or allow 48 hours for us to verify your insurance coverage after making an appointment request online. We will check on your plan and coverage for you.
Please note that for any Other Treatment Modalities that do not covered by insurance but may be used as part of the treatment additional fee may incur. These include, but not limited to, office visit for traditional Chinese medicine pattern diagnosis, herbal medicine consultation, dietary consulation, moxibustion, infrared therapy (TDP lamp), cupping, gua sha procedures, exercises and etc., a patient consent form for the financial responsibility will need to be signed prior to visiting our clinic.
We also strongly recommended that you also contact your insurance provider before the treatment to clarify your specific plan’s coverage and reimbursement policies. Important questions to ask your insurance provider include:
Is acupuncture covered under your specific policy?
What is the rate/percentage of reimbursement for acupuncture treatment?
How many visits will they pay? Is this the number of visits per calendar year or per illness?
Is there a deductible that needs to be met first? Does your deductible apply to acupuncture treatment? If so, have you met your deductible?
Does your policy cover acupuncture treatment for your illness? If coverage is restricted, what diagnoses are covered?
Herbal Medicine
Prices vary depending on the amount and type of herbs that prescribed to the patient and how each herbal pharmacy handles the billing process.
Method 1
Our office can order herbs by sending in the prescription for the herbal medicine to a herbal pharmacy. The herbal pharmacy handles the billing process with the patient and sends the medicine directly to the patient's address. Payment method is according to the herbal pharmacy's policy.
Method 2
For those herbal pharmacies that do not want to handle the billing process with the patient directly, our office will order the medicine by sending in the prescription to the herbal pharmacy. The patient will need to pay the cost to our office in order to order the medicine including shipping and handling fees. The medicine will be shipped to our office for the patient to pick up or to the patient's address directly.
Since herbal medicine is not covered by any insurance company, patients are responsible for all the costs associated with the prescription. In the case that the prescription needs to be paid to our office first, you pay our office via cash, check, Venmo or Zelle.
Facial Rejuvenation (coming soon)
This service is not covered by insurance and patients are responsible for the total treatment cost. However, if the cosmetic acupuncture or body acupuncture is used as an adjutant treatment the payment is the same insurance policy and cash policy as mentioned in the "Acupuncture" category in this section applies..
