Initial/Follow-Up Visit

 

To prepare for an initial visit, please do the following:

 

  • Prepare to stay for one to one-and-a-half hours for the first appointment, which includes the initial consultation, intake, and your first treatment.
  • Please print and fill out relevant forms and bring them with you to the office.
  • Make sure that you eat something light an hour or two prior to the appointment, however do not eat a full meal before arriving at the office. Do not come for an acupuncture treatment with an empty stomach and do not over eat after the treatment.
  • Try to avoid the intake of caffeine (coffee, tea, and etc), alcohol, colored snacks or sweets, and pain medications immediately before your appointment.
  • Wear comfortable and loose fitting clothes that can be rolled up to your elbows or knees.
  • Bring a list of medications, herbal medicine, and health supplements that you are currently taking.
  • If you have had recent blood work or other diagnostic test, bring a copy of the results with you.
  • Avoid heavy exertion (including sexual activity) within 2 hours before and after your treatment. Physical strain immediately before or after acupuncture can weaken your body.

To prepare for a Follow-up visit, please do the following:

 

  • Prepare to stay for 30 to 40 minutes for a follow-up visit, which includes the intake and your treatment.
  • Make sure that you eat something light an hour or two prior to the appointment, however do not eat a full meal before arriving at the office. Do not come for an acupuncture treatment with an empty stomach and do not over eat after the treatment.
  • Try to avoid the intake of caffeine (coffee, tea, and etc), alcohol, colored snacks or sweets, and pain medications immediately before your appointment.
  • Wear comfortable and loose fitting clothes that can be rolled up to your elbows or knees.
  • Bring a list of medications, herbal medicine, and health supplements if they are different than the list you brought for an initial visit.
